I thought of this post when I heard the news this morning that it is now against the law for elephants to perform in circuses.
What do you think of this?

I believe there are about 1,200 elephants in zoos, worldwide – and unfortunately, zoo elephants don’t live as long as those in the wild, simply because they need to be in constant motion – traveling as much as 50 miles a day – otherwise they begin to encounter physical problems. So, as a huge elephant lover, I see this as a really good thing! Thank goodness for elephant sanctuaries!
